Contaminated Colonoscopies at VA Hospitals March 24, 2009
CNN is reporting that patients at a VA hospital in Miami, Florida may have been exposed to hepatitis and HIV because of improperly sanitized colonoscopy equipment. Officials believe that up to 3.260 people may have been exposed and letters warning them of possible infection were sent to them on Monday. This warning follows similar occurrences at other VA hospital facilities in Tennessee and Georgia.
